VIVAnews – The French government disbursed a US$300 million dollar loan to the Indonesian government to support the climate change program.
The loan agreement has been sealed today, July 27, in Jakarta by Director General of Debt Management Rahmat Waluyanto and Agence Française de Développement Joel Daligault, witnessed by the French Ambassador Phillipe Zeller.
Zeller explained that the climate change program loan (CCPL) is given to support the ongoing policy reform. The policy matrix is concerned with mitigation point which covers forestry, energy, and adaptation in agricultural and water sectors.
“The loan is also used to assist inter-sectoral issues in the climate change program loan,” he said during the signing.
According to Rahmat, the agreed loan comes in long-period soft loan. After the signing, the loan can be fully disbursed in the next few weeks.
