VIVAnews - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce stated that state electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara can afford the LNG from the Donggi Senoro, whose prices are equal to the selling price to Chubu Electric Power.
"PLN can purchase LNG with the same price offered in the Chubu formula," said Head of Permanent Committee of Energy Development at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce Ali Herman Ibrahim on Thursday, August 13.
According to him, the LNG can also be utilized for supplying gas to cities. Therefore, he said the government should not be worried if Chubu and Kansai Electric Power Co, Inc annulled the contract with PT Donggi Senoro LNG consortium.
Pertamina Managing Director Karen Agustiawan said PLN does not absorp the senoro gas with market price. PLN's preparation takes into consideration the average gas prices in Java of around US$4-5 per mmbtu.
Karen verified that the prices offered to domestic companies are of the same prices for export at US$6.16 per mmbtu.
