The head of BPS Rusman Heriawan explained in a press conference at his office on Tuesday, Sept. 1, that the inflation triggered by the price increase, especially on food stuff reaching 1.29 percent.

The inflation rate from January to August is recorded reaching 1.22 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year (yoy) inflation rate hits 2.75 percent.

"This is the first time the yoy rate is higher than one percent. It was still 0.66 percent in July. In the end of August, it increased to 1.22. But still, the rate is still very low," he said.

The August inflation rate is higher than July since there was a pressure on the prices in the end of August when entering the fasting month.
