Inflation in September Hits 1.05 Pct

The cities experiencing deflation were not Muslim-majority regions.

VIVAnews - The fasting month and the Lebaran helped raise inflation in September 2009 to 1.05 percent. Only three out of 66 cities recorded deflation.

"This is the highest [inflation rate] along 2009," said Head of the Central Bureau of Statistics Rusman Heriawan on Thursday, October 1.

The cities experiencing deflation were not Muslim-majority regions such as Manado, Sorong and Ambon.

In addition, the calendar year recorded 2.28 percent of inflation while year-on-year inflation rate reached 2.83 percent.
