VIVAnews - Labuan Unit I steam-based power plant has yet to be attached to the electrical system in Java and Bali, despite the power plant which is listed in the 10,000 megawatt acceleration project is ready to be fully operated.
"We have made tryouts," said state power company PLN's director of strategic construction Agung Nugroho via telephone call on Friday, Oct. 2.
He explained that the tests have to be conducted first because the electrical system in Jakarta is not ready yet to receive new electricity supply.
Labuan (Banten) steam-based power plant with a capacity of 300 MW is targeted to operate and be connected to the Java - Bali network in 2009.
The steam-based power plant will be constructed by contractors from ChengDa Engineering Corporation and Truba Jurong consortium, China. The power plant investment values US$338 million.
