VIVAnews – It has been a week since the 7.6-magnitude earthquake hit Padang, West Sumatra. Yet, the victims have not been managed well since many of them have not received any aid until now. This condition has caused stress for many victims.

Head of crisis management center of the Health Department Rustam Pakaya when interviewed by VIVAnews on Tuesday, Oct. 6, said that the wide range between the disaster locations in a vast area have raised the difficulty to provide aid for the victims. The available aid is far from sufficient.

“It has been a week since the quake and the victims are starting to stress out. We are deploying surveillance, social and health service team to manage this problem,” Pakaya said.

The victims have urged for aids since several days ago. While, outside Padang, the public has been gathering aids for the victims.

“We have not got even a single drop of water from the government,” said one of the victims, Uti, in Batang Tajongke, South Pariaman, to VIVAnews on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
