VIVAnews – US President Barack Obama is confirmed to not visit Indonesia on November 12 2009. Obama is scheduled to visit Indonesia in 2010. There has not a further explanation on the exact date of his visit.

According to the presidential spokesperson for international relation Dino Patti Djalal, the meeting between Obama and Yudhoyono during the G20 meeting in Pittsburg discussed about the importance of Obama’s visit to project the bilateral relation.

“Both leaders agreed that the best time for the visit is next year [2010] on the date that will be agreed by both sides after seeing several options,” Djalal said in the presidential office on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Djalal confirmed that the cancellation does not relate to any security or terrorism issue. “It is only a matter of time, which does not relate to terrorism or security. It is too early if [the visit] is done in November,” he added.

He also explained that there will be further discussion on the visit date. “The exact date has not been agreed, there will be intense discussion between the Indonesian government and the White House,” he said.
