VIVAnews - Around 30 countries are ready to help rehabilitate and reconstruct Padang, West Sumatra, after a 7.6 on the Richter scale earthquake shook the area. For the time being, the aid emphasizes on device supply and volunteer support during the emergency response period.
"The government has yet to receive cash in the early phase. This is due to an underway identification process on ruined public facilities," said Foreign Affairs Minister Hassan Wirajuda on Thursday, Oct 8.
As for fund channelling, he said, such organization as NGOs will directly be involved.
After the emergency response period ends, the rehabilitation and reconstruction phases will be designed. "We will talk with the countries that are willing to help," he said.
The foreign affairs minister did not mention in detail about the countries.
