VIVAnews – Non-profit organization in agricultural technology CropLife Asia sees that the Indonesian government has yet unable to provide the infrastructures for the farmers.
“One of the agricultural challenges in Indonesia is the lack of investment for infrastructure in the villages,” said CropLife Asia executive director Tan Siang Hee in Jakarta on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
According to Hee, the agricultural infrastructure is needed to increase the harvest productivity. The Indonesian government is predicted to have billions of dollars investment to complete the agricultural infrastructure.
“The farmers need to repair the dock, street and bridges. [The government] must provide packaging facility if the farmers want to enter the global market by exporting,” Hee said.
Agriculture is a large potential for countries such as Indonesia. The high population number and the availability of agricultural land can help Indonesia to be involved in the global market.
