Telkom to Acquire 2 Tech Companies

Telkom allocates Rp 500 billion fund to acquire the two companies.

VIVAnews – The state-owned telecommunication company PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) is targeting two companies in the information technology and telecommunication sector to be acquired. Telkom allocates Rp 500 billion fund to acquire the two companies.

Telkom president director Rinaldi Firmansyah in Jakarta on Thursday, Oct. 15 stated that the funding will be taken from the company’s 2009 capital expenditure (capex) budget.

“The companies we are aiming are running in IT sector, mainly on content,” said Firmansyah without elaborating the names of the companies.

The acquisition is intended to expand the company’s supportive business. Other than that, the company also makes transformation in telecommunication business from media technologic convergence into business management on telecommunication information, multimedia, and edutainment (TIME).
