VIVAnews – The gratitude from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to the former vice president Jusuf Kalla expressed in the President’s speech in the parliamentary building during his inauguration as the elected President for 2009-2014 period on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
In his speech, Yudhoyono promises that he and the Vice President, Boediono, will take the people’s aspiration in the next five years.
The President also expresses his gratitude towards the officials and members of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), the House of Representatives (DPR), and other state institutions that have been working together for the previous term.
“To Bapak Haji Muhammad Jusuf Kalla who has been working together with me for the last five years, I express my high gratitude for your service and devotion for the people and country. Your devotion will last for good in the nation’s history and will be remembered forever,” said the President, which was directly closed by a round applause from the audience in the parliamentary building.
The President then stresses that the country should be grateful that the nation has been maintaining its democracy during a global crisis. Moreover, Indonesia is predicted to become the world’s third largest economy.
