VIVAnews – PT Indosat Tbk. (ISAT) records an income valuing QAR4.6 billion (US$1.26 billion) in the first nine months of 2009.The income value is higher 84 percent than the income in the same period in 2008, which valued QAR2.5 billion.
It is mentioned in the Qatar Telecom Group performance description publicized through Qtel website on Wednesday, Oct. 21 that Indosat’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) per Sept. 30 2009 is booked reaching QAR2.2 billion, higher 83.3 percent compared to the same period in 2008, valuing QAR1.2 billion.
However, the cellular operator’s costumer number has decreased fro, 36.4 million to 29.3 million. The decrease happened along with the company’s strategy to identify and erase the calling card-type on its costumers’ basis.
Indosat continues to grow during the third quarter of 2009 after achieving a solid performance in the first semester of 2009 according to the written statement from Qatar Telecom.
Indosat will focus on the increasing of the costumer based relation and high quality service. The company will develop the 3G spectrum during the third quarter of 2009 that will make the increasing of capacity, service quality and wireless broadband possible.
