VIVAnews - Microsoft officially launches Windows 7 today, October 22, in Indonesia.

As reported, Windows 7 is an operating system available to replace the least popular Windows Vista.

"Indonesia is a significant country for Microsoft. Therefore, it is our concern that the newest operating system from Microsoft is launched in Indonesia and other countries at the same time," said Microsoft Indonesia Chief Operating Officer Faycal Bouchlaghem on Thursday, Oct 22.

"The operating system is presented to boost the downturn in IT market," said Faycal. "Hopefully, Windows 7 may bring a positive impact upon the IT world," he said.

There are four versions of Windows 7 that Microsoft offers for Indonesian retail users like the Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate.

In the same occasion, Microsoft also launched Windows Phone in the archipelago as well as in 20 other countries worldwide.

Several Windows Phone manufacturers ready to make available the products in Indonesia include Acer, Asus, LG and Samsung.
