VIVAnews – The Jakarta government will disburse Rp 9.4 billion (US$998,893) to support the cooperatives’ activities in 14 urban villages in five areas in Jakarta and the Thousand Islands.
“I will disburse [the fund] to 14 most-prepared cooperatives after a review on Friday, Oct. 30,” said Jakarta governor Fauzi Bowo in Jakarta on Thursday, Oct. 22.
The fund value will be varied in each cooperative. Cooperatives which have good performance may receive an additional fund. It is expected that the fund will increase new job opportunities to reduce the jobless rate.
Four urban villages in South Jakarta, which includes Ciganjur, Cipete, Menteng Dalam and Cikoko, will receive a total Rp 4.017 billion. Two urban villages in Central Jakarta which includes Benhil and Kebun Kosong will get Rp 1.259 billion. Panggang area in the Thousand Inslands will manage Rp 300 million.
In East Jakarta, Kayu Putih area will receive Rp 370 million. Two areas in North Jakarta, Sukapura and Tugu Utara will take Rp 690 million, and four urban villages in West Jakarta will obtain Rp 2.084 billion.
